Slow Cooker Lipton Onion Potatoes

Ingredients:

  • 6 large potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 packet of Lipton Onion Soup mix
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth or water
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooking spray or butter for greasing

Instructions:

  1. Grease the inside of your slow cooker really well with cooking spray or butter to avoid any sticky situations later.
  2. Wash and peel the potatoes if you like your potatoes naked. Then, slice them up thinly. You want them to be even so they cook evenly.
  3. In a big mixing bowl, toss the sliced potatoes with the melted butter until each slice gets a nice buttery hug. Sprinkle the Lipton Onion Soup mix over the potatoes and give it all a good mix to spread the flavor around.
  4. If you’re feeling cheesy, now’s the time to sprinkle in that shredded cheddar and mix it all up.
  5. Layer your seasoned potatoes into the slow cooker with care, then pour in the chicken broth or water. This liquid will help steam the potatoes to perfection while they slow cook.
  6. Cover it up and let it work its magic. Cook on low for about 5 to 6 hours or crank it up to high for 2 to 3 hours. Keep an eye on it, though, because different slow cookers and potato thicknesses can change the cooking time.
  7. Once the potatoes are tender and cooked through, give ’em a taste and add salt and pepper if needed.
  8. Serve ’em up hot as a comforting side dish alongside your main course. Enjoy the cozy simplicity and deliciousness of these classic slow cooker Lipton Onion Potatoes!
